My role at SmartThings is to steward our engineering teams at SmartThings. I am constantly asking myself what I can to do empower others. My day to day activies include helping out with project work and also looking to grow engineering excellence at SmartThings. 

At SmartThings we are a values-driven organization where we look to our core values to be the common influencing factor through all of our decisions. In 2020, a small group of employees had a vision to change the company's core values because the current iterations were not influential. All levels of employees contributed to re-writing those values, and before they were released every employee at SmartThings had the opportunity to give feedback on our Core Values. I love that story at SmartThings, because this was an initiative sparked by motivated individuals and it has been adopted by all. I have seen this empowerment and ownership behavior with not just the re-writing of our core values, but many other product and technical decisions. Opportunities at SmartThings are everywhere, and we want to see and hear what opportunities you see for SmartThings!

My backround is in IoT (Wifi, BLE, Zigbee), Product Ownership, Agile, MBA, Project Management mostly in consumer products.
